Naidex 2018 show sees unveiling of revolutionary powered wheelchair with advanced lightweight transportability

Mobility scooter specialist, TGA, will be unveiling its latest innovation at this week’s Naidex 2018 show – the pioneering and stylish WHILL C powered wheelchair with advanced lightweight transportability.

Representing a breakthrough in contemporary mobility product design; the Japanese-designed WHILL C is unlike any other affordable powered wheelchair – it combines revolutionary aesthetics, manoeuvrability and comfort with advanced transportability.

WHILL C has been specifically developed for style-conscious individuals who seek a contemporary product for assured independence and a confident lifestyle.

Owners have the ability to access urban and rural environments either for leisure time or work, through a streamlined chassis with world-class performance.

WHILL C and its advanced lithium battery can be effortlessly dismantled into three constituent components, weighing no more that 20kg, so lifting and storage in a standard car boot is strain-free.

This latest model encompasses the renowned WHILL all-directional ‘Omni’ front wheels so precision and controlled steering is possible.

And, with the ability to incrementally drive forwards and sideways without traditional castors, owners can access the tightest of spaces with the smallest feasible turning circle.

WHILL C excels on public transport and allows for seamless movement at multiple destinations through intuitive ‘computer mouse’ style steering. The ergonomics of this interface are reiterated with swing-up armrests and a footplate that require minimal effort to operate – ideal for users with limited strength or dexterity.

WHILL C has a top speed of 4mph/6.4kph and its highly-reliable motors deliver a range of up to 15km.

In terms of added value WHILL C from TGA offers multiple lifestyle features. These include a USB socket, 20 litres of storage capacity, six finish colours and a smartphone App. This App connects with sophisticated on-board technology so real-time data can be viewed regarding battery level, range and performance.

This connectivity can also be used to immobilise the WHILL C, or drive it remotely so storage and parking is more flexible.

Available with either a 16” or 18’’ width seating system, it offers a suitable solution for the majority of users who do not need complex postural support.

Daniel Stone, TGA managing director, said: “The TGA team and I believe our new cutting-edge WHILL C will be a game changer for end users.

“It is not a powered wheelchair, it is a stylish personal electric vehicle that synergises ultimate independence with life confidence.

“As a specialist business with a proven track record in engineering excellence, we continue to push the boundaries of stylish innovative design with WHILL C. It brings together outstanding drivability, comfort and quality in an affordable solution that is at the forefront of assistive technology.”
