Planning permission has been granted for a 66-bed care home in York.
LNT Care Developments has been given the go-ahead to build the facility in Green Lane, Clifton.
It will provide residential and dementia care for the elderly.
Nick Broadbent, development director at LNT Care Developments, said: “We are delighted to be building such a fantastic care home in York.
“It will create 50 jobs in the local area and provide a high-quality resource for elderly people in the local community.
“The facility will incorporate intelligent dementia design and be eco-friendly by benefitting from ground source heat pumps and LED lighting, keeping utility costs low.”
Construction of the home is due to start in April with an expected completion date of March 2019.
Accommodation will include en-suite bedrooms, communal areas, and amenities such as a cinema, library, garden room, teashop and landscaped gardens.
