Peter Ellingworth has been appointed as the new ABHI chief executive.
His appointment was led by a recruitment committee made up of representatives from the ABHI Executive. Ellingworth recently stood down as ABHI chairman and has been an active participant in ABHI activities for a number of years.
Executive and committee member, and former ABHI Chairman, Colin Morgan said: "We are very pleased that someone of the calibre and extensive knowledge of the industry as Peter has taken this critical role and we look forward to working with him to drive forward the strategic agenda of the Association and its member companies."
Meanwhile, the ABHI Council has elected Geoff Cox of Huntleigh Healthcare to chair the UK's leading healthcare industry association for the next three years. Cox is managing director of Huntleigh in the UK and also sits on the ArjoHuntleigh global management team.
He said: "I am very pleased and honoured to be given the opportunity to chair the ABHI. Clearly there is a great deal to do and I am delighted to be working with Peter Ellingworth who I know is also keen to maximise the contribution which the Association makes."
Ellingworth said: "I have worked closely with Geoff in his previous role as ABHI Vice-Chair, both during my time at Chairman, and as a fellow member of the ABHI Executive. I am delighted that the Association will continue to benefit from his considerable knowledge and expertise at an important time for our industry."
