Octopus Healthcare has appointed Sheila Hendy as a clinical assurance director.
She will sit on the Clinical Assurance Board which Octopus Healthcare established last year with the objective of promoting a culture of best practice in clinical assurance across its portfolio of investments. The board monitors, assesses, and acts on clinical matters relating to healthcare investments managed by the group.
As a registered nurse, Hendy brings with her more than 25 years of healthcare experience at both a local and national level. She most recently held the position of director of governance at Cancer Partners UK, where she was responsible for risk management, business contingency planning, health and safety, information governance, and policy and regulation training, in addition to third party contract negotiating. Prior to this she was director of governance and risk at BMI The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, in addition to 16 years at BUPA where she held a number of positions including, most notably, national risk manager covering 26 hospitals.
Commenting on the appointment, Mike Adams, chief executive of Octopus Healthcare, said: “Sheila brings with her a wealth of experience and we are really looking forward to working with her. She strengthens our offer and reaffirms our strategy to provide a best-in-class service to our operator partners and tenants. As we continue to expand our investment activity in the UK healthcare market, Shelia’s extensive governance and clinical experience will be invaluable.”
