Assura Group development due to open in 2014

Work has begun on the development of a new 35,500sq ft health centre in Suffolk.

Assura Group recently carried out a ceremonial turf-cutting event on the site of the new integrated health centre in Church Field Road, which has been designed by Murphy Philipps Architects and will be built by Galliford Try.

The facility will see the services currently provided by Walnuttree Hospital, Acton Lane Clinic, St Leonard’s and Siam GP practice consolidated under one roof. It will be one of the largest properties in Assura Group’s portfolio and is due to be completed by the summer of 2014.

Simon Gould, development manager at Assura Group, said: “Getting the first spade in the ground is always a momentous occasion, particularly for a development of this scale and importance. We are looking forward to seeing the progression of this project over the coming months and hope that it will demonstrate the effectiveness of integrating services.”
