Engineering consultancy, Henderson Green, has played a key role in the speedy delivery of a healthcare building which was destroyed by fire.
The firm was brought on board by Winchester's Royal Hampshire County Hospital to provide design and sustainability services for the newly-opened building, which houses world-class MRI and CT scanning facilities, following a large fire in 2011.
The consultancy worked closely with the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to ensure the facility was open for business as planned.
Russ Pitman, Henderson Green’s managing director said: “This really was a case of the phoenix rising from the ashes. We were involved in this project from the very beginning which means we were able to provide good advice and consider the most-appropriate sustainable solutions from day one.”
He added: "The fire completely gutted the former building and we are delighted that this exceptional new building is now up and running. It was a privilege to have been selected to work on this complex, challenging and highly-rewarding 'fast-track' project which utilised our systems expertise.”
In addition to providing traditional mechanical and electrical engineering services design, the consultancy acts as an Accredited Professional (AP) for BREEAM.
