The two companies have launched DREAM, a global digital service helping patients stay on track with medications and vaccinations

British biopharmaceutical firm GSK has partnered with international IT services provider adesso. The two companies have joined forces to develop and implement a global digital patient support solution.

The initiative, titled DREAM (Digital Reminders for Adherence of Medicines and Vaccines), is an IT solution designed to improve patient adherence to treatment plans and vaccination schedules through timely, personalised digital reminders.

Initially piloted in five markets, the DREAM system has rapidly expanded and is now operational in 23 countries worldwide, including the UK, Spain, Italy and a number of emerging markets.

The service sends users clear, accessible reminders to take prescribed medication and attend scheduled vaccination appointments, aiming to address a longstanding challenge in healthcare: ensuring consistent patient adherence to treatment plans.

The success of the DREAM project is the result of a collaborative partnership between GSK and adesso, formed to deliver a scalable, flexible solution capable of meeting the diverse regulatory requirements of multiple healthcare systems.

GSK, headquartered in London, sought an experienced technology partner to help develop and deploy the solution globally.

adesso, which is based in Dortmund, Germany, and operates extensively across Europe, provided the necessary technical expertise and agile development approach to deliver the project at pace.

Necati Sebe, Head of Commercial Operations and Strategy at GSK, said: “We chose adesso because their team works with flexibility, focus, and exceptional commitment – even when faced with complex challenges. This partnership has enabled us to create a simple solution for a complex problem.”

adesso UK has worked alongside GSK for around 18 months to support the implementation and expansion of the DREAM platform.
