Genmed, a specialist provider of vendor-neutral managed services to the NHS, has appointed Nicky Carless as its national sales manager.
She will help to develop existing client accounts and win new business in the renal, pathology and imaging, infrastructure and IT sectors.
Working closely to support Genmed’s account management team and divisional director; her broad role will involve responding to tenders, monitoring sales revenue, developing forecasts, and growing the business.
Prior to joining Genmed, Carless worked at Leica Microsystems for 10 years in a variety of roles, culminating in her being sales account manager responsible for the company’s histopathology portfolio of equipment.
She started her career as a histology technician working in both the private sector and at Worcester Royal Infirmary.
She then became a research medical technical officer at the Islet Research Laboratory in Worcester – an organisation focused on developing islet transplantation as a treatment for diabetes mellitus.
Commenting on her latest appointment, Carless said: “I’ve always had an interest in managed services as they relate to laboratory medicine.
“I see this as the best way forward for the NHS to procure what it needs. Genmed has an excellent reputation in this field, which is why I joined the company.”
