Elliott has been awarded the contract to construct a £5m, 108-bed staff accommodation block at Peterborough City Hospital.
The feature four-storey building was designed to incorporate the company’s offsite manufacturing techniques and modular construction approach and will be installed in just 16 weeks.
The project incorporates a wide range of sustainable and eco features including increased levels of insulation, low-energy lighting, energy-efficient heating systems and water-saving technology.
Dr Peter Reading, interim chief executive at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “The building has been created in a modular design, which means it will be more straightforward to extend it in the future if necessary.
“I am pleased that the trust is able to work with a local company to develop the site and we look forward to watching it quickly take shape.”
Bernard Quenot, managing director of Elliott, added: “Our off-site systems offer assured levels of quality as well as meeting all current regulatory requirements.”
