Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has furthered the digital transformation of its outpatient department with an upgrade to Version 8 of the Intouch with Health digital patient flow management platform and an investment in Intouch’s Room & Resource Manager module.
Version 8, released in February 2021, gives NHS Trusts the capability to deliver outpatient services beyond the hospital walls by delivering fully integrated and intelligent blended patient flow management software via a single digital dashboard.
Mike Sanders, CEO of the UK VitalHub Group, said: “We are delighted the team at Doncaster and Bassetlaw have chosen to upgrade to Version 8 of Intouch with Health’s digital patient flow management platform.
“Version 8 pioneers the use of a digital-first approach to accessing healthcare and seamlessly integrates the proactive and preventative measures achieved through care in the community, with traditional, hospital-based patient care.
Version 8 also includes new features that further supports social distancing and infection prevention measures
He continued: “Version 8 also includes new features that further supports social distancing and infection prevention measures; features that are designed specifically to support hospitals in tackling new challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
In addition to the Trust’s upgrade to Version 8, it will also deploy Intouch with Health’s digital room and resource booking management module, Room & Resource Manager, which like the rest of the Intouch Platform, is integrated with the Trust’s PAS.
Designed to optimise the efficient and timely use of hospital clinic and meeting rooms whilst simultaneously improving communication lines, Room & Resource Manager will give staff at Doncaster and Bassetlaw access to real-time data covering room availability, meeting room status and resource needs, allowing rooms to be booked and resources to be allocated as efficiently as possible via the Intouch with Health patient flow management dashboard.
Mike Sanders added: “Safely managing the patient journey has never been more important and balancing the needs of clinicians carrying out face-to-face consultations with the operational needs of the hospital to effectively and efficiently manage its resources is critical.
“Using Room & Resource Manager, staff at Doncaster and Bassetlaw can quickly and easily search available rooms and resources. An integrated calendar automatically highlights available slots and a text box lets staff add in meeting details or notes on the spot. A notification of any amendments can also be sent within the system, which also automatically updates the organiser, and colour coded alerts inform staff of meeting room status in real-time.”
