Developers have broken ground on a new 70-bed care home in Bingham, Nottinghamshire.
Contractor, Lawrence Baker, has been appointed to build the new facility, which will be run by care operator, HC-One.
It will be the operator’s second care home in Bingham, and one of more than 300 care homes operated by HC-One across the UK.
It is being developed by Nottingham-based Charterpoint Senior Living, which specialises in developing care homes and retirement living schemes.
“We are delighted to see work getting under way on site at our latest project,” said Charterpoint chief executive, Adrian Goose.
“This is an attractive, bespoke scheme which will offer first-class, modern care facilities.”
Mostly over two storeys, with one section over three storeys; the care home is being built on a brownfield site in Grantham Road which formerly housed a redundant police station.
It will feature residents’ lounges, a hair/beauty salon, cinema room and other extensive communal facilities, along with gardens.
The new home is due to be opened in summer 2021.
