Medical furniture and equipment manufacturer Bristol Maid has released a new range of patient chairs, designed specifically for use at either the bedside or where users may be sat for extended periods. The new chairs use high quality components and feature fire retardant foam (BS 5852: Part 2: 1982), fire retardant and antimicrobial vinyl. All chairs are certified to BS EN 16139: 2013 Level 2. Furniture. Strength, durability & safety. Requirements for non-domestic seating, and have a maximum capacity of 160kg.
The Alderbury range is available as either a low back chair or medium and high back armchairs. The ergonomic design ensures correct sit and posture, while handgrips assist positioning from standing and seated positions. Frames are constructed from solid beech, (PEFC accredited) with mortice and tenon joints; and are finished in an anti-bacterial varnish.
Seat and back cushions are contoured, whilst a hygiene gap prevents the trapping of dirt and bacteria, providing access for cleaning. The seat section is fixed on low back chairs, and either fixed or removable on medium and high back armchairs. The removable seat section assists cleaning (smooth vinyl upholstered underside) and is also reversible, providing additional clearance (seat depth) at the front of the chair. Plastic guides are fitted to chair legs as standard, whilst optional housekeeping wheels can be fitted to medium and high back armchairs. The Alderbury range is available in an extensive selection of colours.
