Asset tracking solution deployed in Bristol
New solution helps to track and manage medical equipment
University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust has deployed AeroScout’s Real-Time Location System to boost asset tracking and management of medical equipment.
Installed by Block Solutions, the system will help to improve productivity and enhance patient care by enabling staff to locate and manage equipment without the need for a proprietary RFID network.
"Prior to the introduction of the system, the clinical staff at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children had to manually search for medical equipment. Now they have a clear understanding of the location and status of not only high-value assets, but also of important patient care items such as bariatric beds and wheelchairs," said Dave Oatway, IT services manager at the trust.
"Since implementing the solution, we've seen excellent benefits and, in the future, hope to expand to include temperature monitoring and possibly patient flow systems."
