Health and long-term care technology specialist, Ascom UK, has expanded its team of consultants with three new clinical hires.

Julia Spindler (pictured), who joins as clinical sales consultant and will work across London and the South East, has 24 years of frontline experience as a registered nurse and also held the position of director of clinical services with Spire Healthcare Group.

Shabiha Azam, also a clinical sales consultant who will operate across the North of England, spent more than 17 years with Johnson & Johnson and has extensive knowledge of the medical device sector from its Ethicon division.

She has also been twice nominated in this year’s The Great British Businesswoman Awards and is an honorary NHS England Inequalities member.

And Nick Hammond, a clinical pre-sales consultant, is a registered operating practitioner and clinical application specialist.

His experience spans across medical devices having worked with Mindray and bio-medical engineering equipment during his time with Avensys UK.

The appointments bolster Ascom UK’s network of clinical consultants, which is made up of seven healthcare professionals from a wide range of backgrounds, including registered nurses, medical technology, and IT experts.

Also joining the growing Ascom team is Phil Guest, a sales consultant who previously worked with brands such as Legrand.

Commenting on the latest appointments, managing director for Ascom UK, Paul McCann, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Julia, Shabiha, Nick, and Phil to the team.

“Their first-hand experience and understanding of the pressures and challenges our customers face within health and long-term care is second to none and it is knowledge that is invaluable as we continue to innovate and create technology to meet the constantly-evolving needs of those working on the frontline and the people under their care.”
