The £17.8m Bridgwater Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) has reached practical completion.
The facility has been delivered through a long-term Managed Service partnership between Ergéa UK and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, with Actiform serving as the principal construction partner.
The project was completed within months of site works commencing in September 2025, following NHS England approval and planning consent secured earlier that year.
Through modern methods of construction, the building was delivered and installed between January and March 2026.
The diagnostic equipment was then delivered and installed in April, allowing for commissioning and final preparations to progress.
Located adjacent to Bridgwater Community Hospital, the centre is expected to open to patients later this summer, and will provide advanced diagnostic and outpatient services closer to home for residents across Bridgwater and the wider Somerset region.
The building will undergo final clinical preparations before welcoming patients later in the summer.
The new CDC has been designed to house two MRI scanners, two CT scanners, four outpatient consultation rooms and two echocardiography and ultrasound suites.
The facility will support routine and specialist cardiac and cancer diagnostics while increasing local capacity for imaging services.
According to Ergéa UK, the completion of the centre also marks the culmination of Somerset's Diagnostic Transformation Programme, which has delivered more than 877,000 additional diagnostic tests for the local population.
Ergéa UK's Managed Service model combined infrastructure delivery, procurement and installation of diagnostic equipment, and long-term lifecycle management under a single integrated contract.
The diagnostic technology package includes Siemens MRI systems and GE CT scanners selected in collaboration with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust's imaging team.
