Nurse call solutions provider, Vizcall, announces launch of Call Master IP 'Bedhead'

Nurse call solutions provider, Vizcall, has recently launched Call Master IP ‘Bedhead’, a revolutionary IP nurse call unit which accommodates a standard hardware and open software solution making it easy to install, maintain and configure unlike traditional methods which can rely solely on specialist contractors and manufacturers.

We’re a huge believer in transparency and we've been working extremely hard to get this right. We're confident users will love this solution - it's incredibly smart

Call Master IP ‘Bedhead’ introduces an entirely-new approach to how simple IP nurse call systems really are by breaking down the science that has left many confused over the years.

“Call Master IP is the most-logical product on the market”, said Adrian Jon Brookbank from Vizcall.

“Our aim was to simplify the system so users can easily understand every aspect from what’s inside to how it works, while allowing the customer to install, change, upgrade or maintain themselves if they wish to.

“We’re a huge believer in transparency and we've been working extremely hard to get this right. We're confident users will love this solution - it's incredibly smart.”

It’s simple

Call Master IP ‘Bedhead’ is built on standard hardware and complies to the HTM 08-03 guidance. It comes complete with a virtual programming application that can run on any web browser, enabling the unit to be installed and programmed in record time or pre-programmed ahead of installation if required – with the point data stored on the solid state SD card back-up. Restore can be carried out by the customer in seconds and installation of external devices such as overdoor lights and pull cords can be installed without the requirement of complicated wiring diagrams using the ident-based connection system, which is a first of its kind.

Call Master IP ‘Bedhead’ is truly a breakthrough IP nurse call system, bringing simplicity on install carried through to the user experience

It also supports Power over Ethernet (POE), enabling a safer low-voltage environment with devices running at 5v not the traditional 24v - thus removing the requirement for a 24v supply at each bed. Plus, with ultra-bright RGB LED technology on both handset and overdoor indicators, each unit will save energy too.

It’s open

Call Master IP ‘Bedhead’ is the first nurse call solution to be built using the popular Raspberry Pi mini-computer, with over three million units now in service supporting various applications, from education to professional broadcast and commercial digital signage.

Brookbank said: “We’re a great believer in, not only the potential of this chosen board, but with availability from multiple outlets, it ensures spares can be obtained without the reliance on just a single supplier.”

It’s smart

Bringing a true plug-and-play IP nurse call to the market is something we have felt passionate about for many years, but when a product is stripped to its core, designed and built from the ground up to simplify for everyone, the end result is a solution that completely makes sense

Call Master IP ‘Bedhead’ works seamlessly with our Call Master NET platform. Call Master NET operates on a standard PC with LAN connection for call monitoring and programming. There are no special controllers needed to run the IP nurse call system - just a managed network switch supporting POE – and access to calls can be remotely viewed in real-time with audio via any web-browser on desktops or tablets, enabling staff to keep track of calls easily.

The bedhead comes complete with a rich programming application for desktop and tablet devices, which offers a virtual representation of the unit. It’s extremely simple to programme, with room description and features you require on a single screen, enabling maintenance to change as and when they need to.

It’s honest
