Linden Medical Centre is extended and new pharmacy developed

Stepnell has completed a major extension to the Linden Medical Centre in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

The Grantham-based construction team began work in November 2014 on the £355,000 scheme for Jelmac (Primary Care) Properties. The project involved the creation of a two-storey extension housing two consulting rooms and two offices and the provision of new premises for the Co-op Pharmacy.

Previously located in Stamford Road, Kettering, the pharmacy has been operating from a portable building at the Linden Medical Centre during the construction work.

The scheme also included internal refurbishment and reconfiguration of the centre’s existing building space to provide a further three consulting rooms, as well as the creation of an entrance lobby and alterations to the car park.

Stepnell construction director, Bill Haynes, said: “We’re delighted to have worked with Jelmac and the practice to extend and refurbish the Linden Medical Centre. The scheme has enlarged the premises and delivered a more-modern environment for everyone who uses the building, creating improved facilities including the new on-site pharmacy, which will be of significant benefit to patients.”
