Digital supply chain solution will replace manual processes to transform care at every point in the patient pathway

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Ingenica Solutions to automate inventory management processes, driving operational and financial efficiencies across The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

Ingenica Solutions 360 IM will be implemented across the two acute sites to modernise the largely-manual approach to supply chain and inventory management currently in place.

The ability to track and trace medical supplies, people, and equipment will facilitate efficiencies and transform standards of care at every point in the patient journey.

Using innovative barcode technology, Ingenica Solutions 360 IM will provide the trust with real-time data access and a 360-degree view of costs to improve visibility and control, enabling effective purchasing.

The trust is also expected to secure substantial cost-savings through the implementation of Ingenica Solutions 360 IM; reducing wastage and releasing clinical time from admin-led duties.

The solution will initially be implemented across theatres and interventional departments in both hospital sites including cath labs, cardiology, radiology and neuroradiology.

Marc Saaiman, deputy head of procurement and Scan4Safety lead at the trust, said: “Ingenica Solutions 360 IM was chosen not least because of the flexibility of the solution to grow and expand with the needs of our trust over time, but also because of its well-recognised ability to maximise frontline and back-office savings and efficiencies now and in the future.”
