Schneider Electric is appointing Peter Herweck executive vice president of the industry business and member of the executive committee.
The 50-year-old began his career at Mitsubishi Electric as a software development engineer in Japan before joining Siemens in 1993, where he held a variety of positions in the automation and drives field in Germany and the US.
In 2004, he served as a member of the managing board and president of the automation & drives Group at Siemens China. Four years later, he became president of the industry sector in North-East Asia. And, in 2011, he was appointed head of corporate strategy and corp vice president. In 2014, he became chief executive of the process industries & drives division.
He studied automation technology at Saarland University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and received a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from Université de Metz, France. He holds a MBA and completed the Advanced Management programme at Harvard Business School.
He will join Schneider Electric on 1 October and will be in charge of the industry business from 1 January, 2017.
