NG Chartered Surveyors has facilitated a move for Optegra Eye Health Care into new Grade A premises in Nottingham

Three divisions at NG Chartered Surveyors, a commercial property consultancy firm, facilitated a move for Optegra Eye Health Care into new Grade A premises in Nottingham.

Optegra Eye Health Care is a national vision correction provider and it has expanded onto Apex Court in Wilford, Nottingham by leasing the ground floor of Building C of the business park.

The new clinic will provide NHS cataract surgery to local residents, providing free treatment in five-star surroundings.

Alongside providing NHS treatments at its 18 hospitals and clinics across the UK, Opetgra also offers private eye care services, which include laser eye surgery, lens replacement, cataract treatments, and other medical procedures.

Associate Director at NG, Charlotte Steggles, brokered the deal for Optegra’s new premises on behalf of a private landlord client.

Steggles said: “It’s fantastic to help Optegra with their expansion plans at Apex Court. A location that continues to grow in popularity due to excellent transport links to Nottingham city centre and the rest of the UK. Our landlord tenant now has a high calibre tenant enjoying national expansion and for Opetgra, they have stunning new premises to operate from.”

“In one of our most significant projects this year, we have not only sourced a new tenant for Apex House but also worked with our Building Consultancy Director, Paul Rogers who procured the Cat A works to split the property and oversaw the tenant’s work,” Steggles explained.

“Our Director, Jude Weston will manage the building on behalf of our landlord client. This was a real team effort from my colleagues at NG with a deal that enhances our reputation as a quality full-service agency,” Steggles concluded.

Paul Rogers, Building Consultancy Director at NG, said: “It’s great to be working closely with our property management and agency colleagues to provide a cohesive and complete property solution to our client.”

“Our primary focus was to ensure the Cat A works were completed on time, to design and within budget.  We were familiar with the property having previously completed insurance reinstatement cost assessments and dilapidation services when the former tenant exited. We have worked closely with the tenant’s representative to approve and monitor the Cat B works,” Rogers concluded.

Darren Whitelaw, Head of Property and Asset Management for Optegra, said: “We have opened 11 new NHS clinics around the country over the past two years, aiming to support the NHS and provide timely cataract surgery.  Each build has been unique, presenting individual challenges while ensuring the delivery of an Optegra-style hospital for patients.”

“Nottingham provided the challenge to split a two-floor property into two separate units, and then create the hospital on the ground floor. NG have been a pleasure to work with, and very helpful throughout this process. We are delighted with the result and are confident our patients will be too,” Whitelaw concluded.
