Builders have moved out of the £230m Tunbridge Wells Hospital development at Pembury in Kent, allowing Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust to begin fitting out the remainder of the building. During the next four months 10 wards of 30 en-suite single bedrooms, operating theatres, outpatients facilities and the A and E department will be equipped with millions of pounds worth of equipment and 1,500 staff will attend familiarisation courses. Graham Goddard, hospital project director, said: "This is a key milestone for us as the builders move out and we move in to commission the building, creating a flagship hospital of which everyone can be extremely proud."
