Bison Manufacturing has won a contract to supply a significant quantity of its precast concrete components for the construction of a new children’s hospital in Liverpool.

Led by main contractor, Laing O’Rourke, the project to build a new, updated Alder Hey Children’s Hospital will see Bison provide large volumes of columns, beams, stairs and walls together with 25,000sq m of Hollowcore flooring for its multi-storey carpark, offering a total of 1,190 spaces for families, visitors and staff.

Installation of Bison’s components is due to be completed by August.

Edward Jones, project manager at Bison Manufacturing, said: “We’re extremely pleased to have been appointed to this project. Our extensive carpark and healthcare experience will enable us to deliver high-quality components within the allotted timeframes.”

Bison has been specified for a number of car park projects in the healthcare sector, including a recently-completed multi-storey car park at University Hospital Llandough, Penarth.
