Advanced Health & Care today announced the appointment of new managing director, George Thaw.
He will take over from Jim Chase, who has decided to stand down having led the rapid growth of Advanced from the start to become a leading supplier of IT solutions for the growing out-of-hospital, community health, and social care sector.
Advanced works with care providers in the NHS, local government, social enterprises, and the private sector to deliver leading IT solutions in support of safe, effective and efficient patient care. Following this, he became global vice president for Avanade, a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft, which provides IT services focused on the Microsoft platform for mid-sized to large enterprise organisations. Thaw earned the global position after establishing and growing the UK business which contributed the company’s highest gross margin worldwide.
Thaw also served as a senior executive of global enterprise application software provider, SAP, where he managed the day-to-day operational activities. His most-recent position was chief executive and chief chief operating officer of UK-based technology business, Powa Technologies, one of the fastest-growing players in the e-commerce and mobile commerce market place.
Further developing Advanced’s portfolio of solutions including its mobile care products will be a top priority moving forward.
Paul Gibson, chief operating officer, of the Advanced Computer Software Group, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming George to the group. He is a highly-experienced, relationship-based leader with an excellent track record for growing high-value, complex enterprise organisations.
“Under his leadership, Advanced will continue to bring forward innovative IT solutions for the NHS urgent care, community and mental health sectors as well as the homecare and residential care sector.”
