BMI The Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield has installed Fujifilm’s flagship X-ray room - the FDR Visionary Suite.
The Fujifilm room solution includes the D-EVO II detector, which offers the patented image processing tools Dynamic Visualization II and Virtual Grid.
When combined, these technologies provide a significant reduction in dose for the patient and deliver superior image quality for the clinician.
John Ulyatt, clinical services manager (Imaging) at the hospital, said: “We are looking forward to the dose-saving features, the improvement in image quality, and the productivity efficiencies that the new room offers having a hugely-positive impact on our patients and the wider Sheffield community.
“Since installation, Fujifilm’s Visionary Suite has improved workflow, which is crucial to a single room department. This is mainly due to the system’s highly-intuitive nature and ease of use - all our staff have all found it very user-friendly.
“I have seen a remarkable improvement in image quality and our clinicians tell me they are very happy.
“The new room should allow us to accelerate and improve the patient experience, resulting in shorter waiting times and greater efficiency.
“Speed is incredibly important to our patients and we’re thrilled to be in a position to offer them an exceptionally-fast service.”
The D-EVO II detector’s ultra-lightweight design not only provides exceptional image quality, but also features a patented anti-bacterial coating technology.
Hydro AG is capable of destroying 99.99% of common bacteria including MRSA, and is 100 times more effective than conventional coatings.
“The D-EVO II detectors are providing value in many areas, one of those being hygiene” said Ulyatt.
“It is great to have a product that helps us to maintain the highest standards in hygiene in the department as that reduces the risk of patient cross-contamination.”
