A new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) has opened in Woking Community Hospital.
The development forms part of a significant extension and refurbishment project at the hospital, designed to enhance local diagnostic capacity and improve patient outcomes.
The Woking CDC is part of the national NHS initiative to expand access to diagnostic testing in community settings, aimed at reducing waiting times and alleviating pressure on acute hospital services.
Operated by Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the centre has been delivered in partnership with North West Surrey Integrated Care Services (NICS), CSH Surrey, Alliance Medical, Skin Analytics, and other healthcare providers based at Woking Community Hospital.

The project was also made possible through charitable contributions from the Rotary Clubs of Woking, The Friends of Woking Community Hospital, HeartBeat Support Woking, and the Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital Charity.
The new facility offers a broad range of diagnostic services, from routine blood and hearing tests to advanced imaging, including MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound.
By providing these services locally, the centre aims to streamline the diagnostic process, offering faster, more accessible services to patients within a modern, purpose-built environment.
Key features of the Woking Community Diagnostic Centre include:
- Advanced diagnostic technologies, including MRI, CT, X-ray imaging and expanded ultrasound capacity.
- A team of highly trained healthcare professionals providing expert analysis and interpretation.
- Reduced waiting times for diagnostic appointments.
- Improved patient experience, with convenient local access to diagnostic services.
- The centre will operate seven days a week, with patients referred by their GP or specialist, integrating seamlessly into the local healthcare pathway.
