New Ascribe Patient Administration System goes live at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust
Fully-managed solution enables trust to meet development and improvement priorities
Ascribe has announced it has gone live with its fully-managed Patient Administration System, CaMIS, at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
The new solution provides a platform to enable the trust to meet its development and improvement priorities covering three hospitals at Wakefield (Pinderfields), Dewsbury and Pontefract.
James Rawlinson, associate director of IT services at the trust, said: “We needed a system that was well-proven, cost-effective and supported our vision of systems optimisation and integration.”
This platform ensures clinicians can make care decisions based on full access to a patient’s medical record, drawing data on demand from multiple connected sources
The cutover from the trust’s previous PAS (Barwick) began with the migration of data into Ascribe’s CaMIS. In total more than 3.5 million rows of data were extracted and uploaded. The data migration was completed and the system handed back to the trust for acceptance testing over the weekend before going live across all departments at 8.00AM on the Monday morning.
Rawlinson said: “Overall the ‘go live’ of Ascribe’s PAS went incredibly well. A team of Ascribe floor walkers, including development teams, supplemented the trust’s own staff to provide additional support over the course of the week.”
The trust utilised Ascribe’s integration technology (Health Application Platform) and ‘Choose and Book’ functionality. During the course of the first week, the trust completed 15,000 outpatient transactions (referrals, bookings and attendances), 5,500 inpatient transactions (admissions, discharges and transfers) and produced 3,000 attendance letters, using the CaMIS clinical correspondence module.
Stephen Critchlow, executive chairman of Ascribe, said: “Ascribe is focused on improving patient safety and helping trusts meet their paperless goals. Our Health Application Platform provides a means to integrate our solutions, and those from third party suppliers, to deliver a full Electronic Patient Record system. This platform ensures clinicians can make care decisions based on full access to a patient’s medical record, drawing data on demand from multiple connected sources.”
In addition to Ascribe’s PAS, the trust already use Ascribe’s clinical solutions in its emergency, endoscopy and medical physics departments.
