Marsden Weighing Group is launching the M-300, which aims to revolutionise the way babies are weighed and monitored by health professionals across the UK.
The system is the lightest, most portable one-piece baby scale on the market and can easily be carried by visiting midwives and health visitors. It offers 2g accuracy to make it easier to monitor the health and development of a baby.
Designed and engineered in the UK, it has a battery life of 700 hours and has already been piloted by Humber NHS Foundation Trust.
We have spent a great deal of time developing the many features of the M-300 and designed it to match and exceed the requirements of midwives and health visitors, as well as providing peace of mind for parents that their newborn child is gaining weight and developing well
Angela Lewis, the trust’s service improvement manager for children and young people, said: “This scale is ideal for our team of health visitors who make house calls to check on babies across the region.
“Most importantly for our service, the scale is incredibly accurate. If a mum is breastfeeding, any concern is clearly centred on whether the baby is putting on weight. Also, if we are carrying out vital diagnostic work, accuracy is absolutely critical.
“The fact that the scale is one-piece rather than several components is also a major advantage, as it operates seamlessly and is designed to be portable.
Richard Black, managing director of Marsden, added: “A baby’s growth and development needs to be tracked to ensure it is growing up healthily. Our scale is able to give precise measurements and make the weighing process easier than ever before.
