Mansell has won a new contract at Great Ormond Street Hospital through its five-year ProCure21+ framework arrangement.
The latest scheme, valued at approximately £10m, will see the creation of state-of-the-art angiography, post-anesthesia care and hybrid suites and also enhancements to the main entrance to provide a more welcoming, age-appropriate environment featuring interactive entertainment for young patients.
The scheme will involve infilling an existing landlocked atrium at the second and third floor levels and constructing a cantilevered steel frame structure to provide additional space. All the refurbishment work will be carried out while the world-famous children’s hospital continues its clinical activities.
The new facilities are due to be completed in early 2014.
Under previous competitive tender and ProCure21 frameworks, Mansell has already completed 64 projects at the hospital, including improvements to wards and clinical facilities as well as office accommodation.
