Single operator system moves patients in comfort

Lift Safe has added a new compact electric bed mover to its portfolio of ergonomic lifting and handling machinery.

The hospital bed mover only needs one operator, reducing staff resource required to move patients in beds. It can be attached to either end of the bed and also comes with a remote control unit for additional flexibility.

Jerry Hanss, managing director of Lift Safe, said: “We already supply a lot of lifting and handling equipment into the healthcare, local authority and pharmacy sectors and we developed the hospital bed mover in response to demand from these customers.

“This compact unit helps move patients in comfort, while reducing the staff resource required and also helping to eliminate injuries, stresses and strains to employees while moving patients.”

Its compact design ensures that both the bed and the attached mover easily fit into a hospital elevator. Engineered for manoeuvrability, it can also work in very tight spaces.

With a towing capacity of up to 1,000kg, it can transfer bariatric patients in comfort and is also ideal for care and retirement homes. The universal clamp system means it can attach easily to all hospital beds, while the quiet electric motor operation ensures it is unobtrusive and does not disturb other patients.

The bed mover is powered by a removable 33Ah lead gel battery pack, which can be swapped out in a matter of seconds. Fully CE-marked, the machine is proven to operate at temperatures of -20˚C to 40˚C.
