According to the Chartered Institute for Environmental Health (CIEH), the level of pollutants in indoor air often exceed those in outdoor air. This is due to confined space and lack of ventilation, mainly because of increasingly air-tight building designs to reduce heat loss and conserve energy. With at least 90 percent of Europeans spending their time indoors, improving air quality should be a high priority for building owners and facilities managers.
To answer the need for short distance humidification with condensate-free saturated steam, HygroMatik introduces its unique 4-in-1 steam injection humidifier, DDS. The unit is designed for applications where clean, low-pressure steam is available, such as hospitals, museums, laboratories, universities, and airports.
Available in two versions; DDS 20 and DDS 40 - with a maximum humidification capacity of 270kg/h and 770kg/h respectively, the unit components are made from stainless steel and feature a high performance steam dryer, condensate drain, dirt trap and start-up protection. The 4-in-1 HygroMatik DDS unit offers further flexibility as it can be assembled individually. It is highly energy efficient and has been designed to be compact and lightweight for easy installation even where space available is at a premium.
The DDS utilises a high performance steam dryer which separates condensate from steam using a spiral piping system. The high capacity unit uses a tight sealing, ball-float condensate drain which applies the fast-reaction operating principle to drain away large quantities of condensate, preventing loss of steam, particularly during start-up.
HygroMatik DDS also features a dirt trap that protects the control valve and the condensate drain against dirt from the steam network. The unit’s start-up protection prevents the penetration of condensate from the steam network into the air conditioning duct by enabling humidification only once a defined operating temperature has been reached.
In addition, the DDS features a direct connection, bus-compatible actuator to ensure optimum control, allowing for especially fine control in lower ranges and fast reaction for high humidification requirements in higher ranges. The new DDS units can be enhanced further with optional extras such as HygroMatik’s MultiLance system for particularly short absorption distances and a stainless steel pressure gauge R ½” with a 0-6 bar range.
HygroMatik is one of the largest manufacturers of various types of air humidifiers and air humidification systems, offering a full range of long-lasting and easily maintained products. HygroMatik’s HVAC products are now available as BIM objects which can be downloaded directly from its website.
