IT security solutions provider, Imprivata, has appointed Mark Clark as its vice president of international sales.
In the role Clark will be responsible for the growth and expansion of the company’s activities outside of the US, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australia.
“As the digitisation of patient data increases around the world, so do regulations designed to protect this sensitive information, said Omar Hussain, the company’s chief executive. “As a result, the healthcare industry is turning to technology more than ever before to provide secure collaborative workflows that improve productivity for clinicians. This has created an enormous opportunity for Imprivata and Mark’s healthcare expertise, proven leadership skills, and demonstrated ability to rapidly expand business on a large scale make him ideally suited to spearhead our international team.”
Clark has nine years of healthcare IT experience from his previous role at Hitachi Data Systems, where he established, developed and expanded the healthcare vertical as a solutions business. His most recent position as director of e-Health and life sciences EMEA saw him leading an international team with responsibility for the strategic direction of activity in the region. He has also held senior sales positions at EMC and Memorex in previous years.
He said of his new role: “Imprivata’s technology targets some of the most fundamental and pervasive technology problems faced within the modern healthcare industry, ensuring security requirements are met while maintaining an efficient clinician workflow. Hospitals everywhere are feeling the same pain and I look forward to helping them enhance care delivery by providing fast, secure access to patient information with our OneSign solution.”
