Local authorities are to receive backing to increase access to joined-up support services for families, covering areas such as infant feeding, parenting, and perinatal mental health

The government has confirmed funding allocations to 88 local authorities across England to establish family hubs, community-based centres providing a single point of access for a range of family support services.

Family hubs are designed to offer joined-up support and information for families, with services covering areas such as infant feeding, parenting, perinatal mental health, and early language development.

75 local authorities have received joint funding from the Department for Education (DfE) and the Department for Health and Social Care through the Family Hubs and Start for Life Programme.

As of March 2025, these areas collectively hosted 551 family hubs.

An additional 13 local authorities have benefited from the DfE Family Hubs Transformation Fund. In these locations, a total of 90 family hubs were in operation as of March 2025.

A full list of family hub locations and their associated funding programme has been published, based on management information supplied by local authorities.

It is noted, however, that this data may not represent a comprehensive list of all family hubs currently operating.

This initiative forms part of the government’s wider strategy to improve early years and family services in England, enhancing local access to integrated health and education support.
