Eurocell announces first fully-integrated window system

Innovative Modus range launched

Eurocell has announced the launch of Modus, the UK’s first fully-integrated door and window system, available with three sash design options.

The standard rebate, slim rebate and fully-flush sash styles offer a much wider range of design aesthetics available to architects and main contractors than traditional PVC-U systems.

In combination with slimmer sight lines, the aesthetics of Modus now gives specifiers a genuine alternative to aluminium and timber products, while offering much better value for money for clients.

Eurocell has invested £3m in the research and development of Modus, resulting in a range that offers unrivalled contemporary aesthetics, exceptional technical performance and leading energy efficiency.

The innovative technical design of Modus includes a triple-seal option to achieve superb thermal and air tightness performance. Its unique 75mm six-chamber profile system delivers optimum energy efficiency performance and is capable of achieving a U-value as low as 0.7 from a standard triple-glazed unit.

Even better, Modus features 50% post-consumer recycled PVC-U as standard and achieves a lower carbon footprint than products made or recycled outside of the UK. Modus utilises cutting-edge dual-material extrusion technology (DMET) which layers post-consumer recycled and ‘virgin’ material simultaneously with high precision. The recycled material is concentrated in the central core of the profiles, where it is completely invisible in an installed window or door.

For specifiers who demand the highest-possible recycled material content, Modus is also offered as a 100% post-consumer recycled PVC-U version, manufactured and recycled at the company’s state-of-the-art plants in Derbyshire.

“Modus offers a clean contemporary design that’s favoured by today’s discerning clients and developers,” said Ian Kernaghan, product design manager at Eurocell. “It is designed to accommodate both cutting-edge and traditional architectural styles – there really is no need to specify any other material or system.”

He added: “Modus is the only system that has been designed to cost-effectively meet both current and future building regulation requirements up to the zero-carbon deadline and beyond.”

The ultra-efficient profile design of Modus means that it can achieve U-values of 0.8 or 0.7 without the need for esoteric, expensive glazing specifications. Consequently it’s lowering the cost of meeting the zero carbon agenda, which will prove popular with contractors and clients. Modus is also the first PVC-U window and door system to offer the reassurance of a 12-year guarantee.

The system is available in nine solid and woodgrain effect colours. All standard colours are available with white internal finishes to create a light and airy living environment. A further range of 40-plus solid and woodgrain effect finishes is available, including colour both sides.

For developments which require a differentiated, premium look Eurocell offers the Architectural range. Consisting of three specially-selected metallic options and a premier woodgrain finish, it adds an affordable touch of class to any development.

Modus will be available from Eurocell fabricators across the UK as casement, reversible and tilt and turn windows, plus French and residential doors, from January.
