Electiva Healthcare has plans to deliver an elective hospital on the banks of the River Thames, creating 300 jobs and strengthening its UK hospital network

Electiva Healthcare has announced plans to open a new flagship private hospital in London in summer 2026, marking the group’s expansion into the capital.

The Electiva London Hospital will be a facility located in south-west London on the banks of the River Thames.

“This is a huge opportunity for us to build something new, something different and something special,” said Brian Welsh, CEO of Electiva Healthcare.

According to the company, the site will become its flagship hospital, expanding its UK network beyond existing hospitals in Manchester and Glasgow.

Features planned for the facility

The hospital will feature two fully equipped operating theatres and 10 individual inpatient bedroom suites.

Facilities are designed to support a range of elective procedures, including corrective, aesthetic, orthopaedic and gynaecology treatments.

Electiva said the development will be accessible by road, river and air, with helicopter transfer available.

The private healthcare company expects the London hospital to generate annual revenues in excess of £50m and create around 300 jobs once fully operational.

Electiva Healthcare Group operates within the self-pay healthcare market and positions itself as a provider of technology-enabled elective care.

Alongside its hospitals, the group includes Transform Medical Services, La Belle Forme, Swift Surgical and other healthcare and medical services businesses.

The company said further acquisitions and developments are planned over the next year as it continues to expand its specialist hospital network across the UK and internationally.

The London hospital will form a central pillar of Electiva’s growth strategy as demand for self-pay elective care continues to rise in the UK.
