Redpath Construction is nearing completion of construction on Elanic Medical's new hospital in Glasgow.
Elanic Medical, part of Elanic Group, is the operator of Elanic Hospital Glasgow.
The private healthcare operator announced at the end of July 2024 that the final scaffolding for the build was coming down.
The new facility will offer a range of elective treatments and surgeries including orthopaedic and bariatric procedures, to self-paying and private medical-insured patients from across Scotland and the North of England, who are seeking timely treatment.
Elanic told Building Better Healthcare that the 15,000 sqft city centre facility is aiming to open to patients in September 2024.
Facilities at the Glasgow Hospital Glasgow
Elanic Hospital Glasgow is co-located with Elanic Clinic, which was founded in 2013 to provide cosmetic surgery and treatments and also operates in Edinburgh, Manchester, and London.
The hospital will be located above the clinic.
The hospital features a state-of-the-art ultra-clean airflow operating theatre and a day surgery theatre, equipped with the industry’s most advanced technology, and complemented by 12 recovery bays.
For patients who require overnight care, there are air conditioned, ensuite bedrooms including a specialist enhanced care dependency bedroom.
The team expects to treat up to 60 patients weekly at the hospital with a further 12 patients treated weekly at the cosmetic surgery clinic on the ground floor.
Staffing the new facility
The clinic is headed by Vivek Sivarajan and CJ Tollan Sivarajan, who are both Consultant Plastic Surgeons, with Vivek Sivarajan also leading the medical team and Ashleigh Jolly leading clinical services.
The company's senior leadership team consists of many experts including, the UK's former national clinical director and a former Director at BMI Healthcare and Circle Health Group.

The clinic has hosted multiple open evenings aimed at consultants who are considering practising at the hospital and GPs who will be advising patients on treatments and the high-quality care available.
Elanic Hospital Glasgow is expected to create around 75 jobs over the next two years, including theatre nurse roles as part of its high staff-patient ratio care provision.

“We’re already taking bookings for consultations, and it won’t be long before our first patients are coming through the door," Campbell said.
