New offering provides energy-efficient lighting in exterior applications

Power management company, Eaton, has announced that its Cooper Lighting and Safety business has expanded its range of exterior lights with the launch of the energy-efficient Galaxy LED.

Designed to provide highly-effective light-emitting diode (LED) floodlighting while retaining low energy costs, the Galaxy LED is offered with a choice of five lumen packages to meet a range of different requirements, from wall-mounted area floodlighting to floor-mounted façade lighting.

“The new Galaxy LED is a versatile product with an array of features that make it ideally suited to a large number of exterior applications,” said Andy Gallacher, product marketing manager for Eaton’s Cooper Lighting and Safety business.

“It provides excellent output to reduce the number of installation points required and includes a built-in inclinometer to assist with accurate targeting and set-up. As you would expect, it is robustly built for outstanding durability and proofed against dust and water jets to allow for stay-clean operation. Furthermore, it meets the need for reduced running costs with low energy consumption, an important feature for specifiers and installers.”

The Galaxy LED offers five lumen output options ranging from 838 to 1,7495 lumens. Additionally, the 10-watt (W) and 30W versions are available with an integrated passive infrared (PIR) sensor if required, which further extends the versatility of the product.

Built with a custom-designed, die-cast aluminium body to protect against damage and rated to Ingress Protection (IP) 65 for protection against jets of water and dust, the Galaxy LED has a toughened glass lens and an anodised aluminium reflector to help ensure high purity and high reflectance.

To assist installers, it includes stirrup bolts that allow for direct fixing to vertical or floor surfaces and the product is supplied with a 1m three-core flying lead.

The development of the Galaxy LED is part of Eaton’s Cooper Lighting and Safety business’ continued investment in its range of LED luminaires, which combine excellent output with cost-effective operation.
