Dr Jean Roberts wins leadership award

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) today named English healthcare IT expert, Dr Jean Roberts, as the recipient of its annual Leadership Award. She was singled out for 'many years of service to e-Health in Europe' and her experience in academic research and ability to design and manage complex programmes and projects in informatics and e-Health business areas'. Dr Petra Wilson, HIMSS Europe government council member, who introduced the award, said Dr Roberts' achievements include driving professionalisation in health informatics, helping to grow the next generation of e-Health professionals, and her considerable research work on operational deployment of healthcare informatics. Receiving the award, Dr Roberts said: "The next generation will be more mobile, will practice IT and informatics more sensitively and will be a more agile workforce"
