Contract awarded to Stepnell for Bucks health centre
Buckinghamshire Primary Care Trust has selected construction company, Stepnell, to design and build a new £3.9m medical centre in Chesham. The two-storey Chesham Healthzone will house a variety of clinical facilities and a pharmacy. It will also incorporate state-of-the-art sustainable technology such as specially-designed louvred shutters which allow 'night purging', a technique allowing low temperature night air to cool and ventilate the buildings. Richard Mills, NHS Buckinghamshire's director of strategy and planning, said: "The Healthzone will be a positive development for the town, and will enable residents to access a wider range of services closer to home."
