EMS Healthcare will be supporting Borders General Hospital in Melrose, Scotland, with a mobile decontamination unit.
The hospital becomes the 24th NHS trust to enlist the help of Cheshire-based EMS Healthcare, a leading provider of mobile clinical facilities which help to relieve hospital capacity.
The unit will be installed during the refurbishment of NHS Borders’ current endoscopy decontamination department and will provide the trust with the capacity to reprocess up to 120 scopes per day – supporting the hospital to maintain reprocessing services without disruption.
Jenny Anderton, business development manager at EMS, said: “We know from our experience with so many trusts across the UK that mobile units offer a flexible and accessible solution at a time of enormous pressure on the NHS.
“We are proud to work alongside colleagues in the NHS and among private providers, as they strive to deliver high-quality services to patients in their communities.
“Above all, we want to help them bring care closer to home.”
