Barnsley Hospital installs best-in-class Fujifilm solution
Solution provides high image quality, lower patient dose, increased workflow, and improved patient experience
When Barnsley Hospital started planning for a major upgrade to its radiology department, the list of requirements was comprehensive. The hospital needed a system that would provide the high image quality, lower patient dose, increased workflow, and improved patient experience that the service demanded, as well as representing value for money, and it would need to be a system that staff were comfortable with and found easy to use.
Fujifilm installed three retrofit rooms featuring a range of D-Evo II detectors, including the C24 for use in neo-natal, plus an FDR Go Mobile. This solution enabled the Department to provide a cost-effective upgrade of its existing CR equipment to digital radiography. The team now benefits from the innovative D-Evo II features, including enhanced image quality, lower dose, and detectors that are lightweight, antibacterial and strong.
The new-generation D-Evo II detectors also feature Virtual Grid, which has brought a number of benefits to the team, as Elizabeth Elfleet, modality lead at Barnsley Hospital, explains: “Virtual Grid has proved popular with radiologists due to the enhanced diagnostic quality, and with radiographers for the ergonomic benefit of only needing to handle the lightweight D-Evo II detector without a grid.”
