Winncare Active Mattress System launched in the UK

Bluetooth connectivity, monitoring and reporting as standard

It has been a long time since there has been any significant advance in alternating air pressure mattresses and their control systems.

Now, with the introduction to the UK of the Axtair Automorpho Air Mattress with Axensor technology from Winncare France, comes a complete pressure care mattress system featuring Bluetooth connectivity, monitoring, and performance reporting.

The Bluetooth connectivity technology called Axensor, automatically detects how the system is being used and how the mattress is performing. It can also provide assistance with preventive and curative maintenance as well as confirmation of all the mattress functions. The system can link to any computer running Windows with Bluetooth and the software required is included. 24-7 Healthcare state that this is a significant advantage, especially to organisations which maintain and use large quantities of mattresses as it makes it possible to:

  • Improve the therapeutic care of patients
  • Guarantee the safety of patients, care givers and other assistants
  • Prove what has been done
  • Optimise mattress management

The 12cm-deep mattress caters for patients up to 165kg/25.9st, while the 15cm-deep version can accommodate patients up to 185kg/29st. Depending on the client weight, the system automatically adjusts the pressure in the cells to the optimal level. When the system detects that the bed is flat or has been tilted, again it automatically adjusts the pressure to individual cells for optimal support. The bottom four cells can be individually deflated to accommodate heel supports. There is also an option of a quick inflation system that can inflate the entire mattress to normal operating pressure within two minutes.

This Air mattress system is initially being introduced to most major healthcare organisations in the South of England. This launch will be followed by other new and innovative pressure care systems over the coming months.

“We are making every effort to present this new system to as many healthcare professionals as possible” said a spokesman for 24-7 Healthcare.

“Once people see what this Bluetooth system is actually capable of; they will quickly realise its advantages compared to systems currently being used”.
