Vanguard Healthcare has appointed two new sales and marketing executives at its Gloucester-based headquarters. <.p>
Rich Cluett and Lisa Middleton will work alongside Mary Smallbone, Vanguard's marketing and operations director, supporting her in the further growth and development of Vanguard's leading share of the UK and European market for mobile surgical facilities.
Vanguard's fleet of mobile operating rooms and temporary day surgery facilities includes mobile theatres, including laminar-flow versions; mobile endoscopy suites; mobile wards; mobile clinics; and mobile day surgery units.
Cluett, originally from Swindon but now a Cheltenham resident, joins Vanguard following his role as a junior media planner at RDA Media, where he co-ordinated numerous campaigns across different industry sectors for commercial and charity clients. Prior to this he worked as a practical course co-ordinator at Improve International, a private veterinary training company which provides CDP courses across the UK and Europe. It was there that he first experienced diagnostic imaging, orthopaedics and endoscopy.
He said of his new role: “This is an exciting opportunity for me to further deepen my experience in the healthcare sector by working with a business that is rapidly expanding throughout Europe and the rest of the world, not least here in the UK. I've learnt so much already, particularly after seeing the temporary units up close. They're fascinating to see as the interiors are almost identical to inside a permanent hospital, so it's easy to forget that you're inside a mobile unit."
Middleton hails from a financial services background in High Wycombe, working for leading businesses including the legal department of Allied Dunbar and Hazlewoods in Cheltenham. She said: "This is my first marketing role, which makes my new position at Vanguard even more interesting. My organised, administrative background has proven to be extremely useful, as I'm busy dealing with countless enquiries from healthcare providers across the UK and Europe who require the short-term use of our mobile surgical facilities and experience. I'm looking forward to seeing what contracts come up in the future, as we already have a few requests for multiple units and more international contracts."
