Dechoker has launched a new device, offering a fast, reliable and easy way of clearing life-threatening airway obstructions.
The Dechoker (ACD) has saved many lives worldwide and has already been adopted by first aid companies, private ambulance services, and a number of hospitals and health centres. It will also shortly be available at pharmacy outlets.
A key reason why the device is so useful is that not everyone can use the traditional methods of helping someone that is choking, for example the Heimlich manoeuvre, which is unsuitable for a young child, elderly, or disabled person to perform.
Additionally, few people are properly qualified to do so.
When someone is choking acting fast is key, and the Dechoker ensures a fast and easy response.
The Dechoker is a life-saving device which can be used for choking first aid on anyone, regardless of age, illness, disorder, or other health-related conditions.
With little training, a parent can use a Dechoker on their child to prevent an accidental choking death.
Most parents keep their Dechoker units in the kitchen so that immediate first-aid can be performed on their child in the event of a choking attack.
They are also advised to ensure that this unit is taken with them in their car when they visit a café or restaurant because in these venues, because of generally-low first aid knowledge, and long ambulance arrival times, often brain damage or brain death has occurred after four or more minutes.
Not only has Europe and the UK adopted the Dechoker, but the team responsible for the President in the US also utilises the product.
