Harrogate-based digital healthcare company, InHealthcare, has appointed experienced NHS director, Simon Jones, as its new commercial director.
Jones has held positions in acute hospitals, mental health and integrated health and social care trusts. His most recent role was director of long-term conditions and patient choice at NHS Direct.
At InHealthcare, he will have a business development role, working with professionals at all levels in the NHS; providers, commissioners and GPs, to build up the use of digital healthcare. His role also covers building greater commercial partnerships between the NHS and technology companies, to unite technology and digital services in a bid to create a better health service.
He said: “With increasing demand, an ageing population, and the need to make best use of NHS resources, we have to accelerate the deployment of technology as an enabler to better health. This will be one of my key objectives in this new role and something I am extremely passionate about through my experiences of working within the NHS.
“InHealthcare is dedicated to the creation of virtual healthcare systems that both support clinicians in the delivery of care and empower patients to take more responsibility for their health. I’m looking forward to this new role and helping achieving the company’s vision of improving the overall health of the nation through continued technological innovation.”
