Schneider Electric has announced the successful completion of a strategic project with Europe’s-largest centre for ophthalmic treatment, Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Founded in London in 1805, Moorfields is the oldest and largest centre for ophthalmic treatment, teaching, and research in Europe, and has recently invested in a Schneider Electric EcoStruxure for Healthcare solution in its drive to modernise its aging infrastructure.
The deployment features, among other facility insight solutions, Real Time Location Systems technology, which facilitates the tracking of staff, patients, and critical assets within the hospital premises, as well as monitoring general patient flows.
“The EcoStruxure platform has allowed me to integrate all of the systems into one proper platform, which has helped us get all of the right data at the right time”, said Chris Harding, director of estates and facilities at the hospital.
“We’ve spent less man hours maintaining the system and my opex costs have gone down.”
EcoStruxure is Schneider Electric’s open, interoperable, IoT-enabled system architecture delivering enhanced value around safety, reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and connectivity.
By bridging information technology and operational technology, EcoStruxure lets customers maximise the value of data. Specifically, it helps them translate data into actionable intelligence, to make better business decisions.
EcoStruxure for Healthcare helps make the best of the hospital’s existing infrastructure by integrating the older-but-valuable building systems into one comprehensive platform.
