One Healthcare has, since 2014, built and opened two new private hospitals, both recognised for their role as sustainable, productive and healthy environments that enhance the wellbeing of patients, visitors, and the dedicated teams of nurses and consultants.
Both One Ashford and One Hatfield have been certified as a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rated buildings .
One Hatfeild is a £40m development which was certified by BREEAM in 2018 after a rigorous assessment of the design, construction, and post-construction stages.
This certification is a testament to a commitment to sustainability as a force for good, and values of a whole-building approach to sustainable development.
One Hatfield opened six weeks early, an achievement never previously realised in the private healthcare sector.
Conlon Construction is One Healthcare's construction partner, and the design was provided by Manning Elliott.
Together, the team was able to create a truly-21st-century approach to healthcare construction and environment, with exteriors and interiors reflecting modern, clean lines and a welcoming approach to all.
Conlon Construction has been further rewarded for its commitment to sustainable futures this year, having just received a Considerate Contractors Award for projects within the value of £10-£15m. The award recognises the measures that a site has put in place to be more considerate towards local neighbourhoods, the public, the workforce, and the environment. One Hatfield has been certified as one such site.
As far as sustainability goes, the future for One Healthcare hospitals will support and complement the characteristics and future of the environments in which they are situated.
The provider works in tandem with Conlon Construction and William Clark Partnership to ensure this commitment is upheld, both while commissioning the hospitals and after they are opened.
A new hospital is an investment that affects all facets of a community - and that extends to the environment as well.
