Pentax Medical highlights innovative endoscopic technologies at UEGW 2016

The company will showcase its new, innovative OPTIVISTA and SCOPEPILOT products

Pentax Medical is exhibiting its latest endoscopy technologies at UEG Week 2016 (Booth 7, Hall X5) in Vienna from 17-19 October. The event is organised by United European Gastroenterology (UEG), a professional non-profit organisation combining all leading European societies concerned with digestive health.

The company will showcase its new, innovative OPTIVISTA and SCOPEPILOT products; in addition, the unique EUS product range from Pentax Medical and Hitachi will be available to view.

The OPTIVISTA EPK-i7010 High-Definition video processor features both digital (i-scan Surface and Tone Enhancements) and optical enhancements (i-scan OE) on the same platform. This unique combination provides extra information for more accurate endoscopic in vivo diagnosis through improved vessel and mucosal pattern characterisation. With the new optical filter producing bandwidth-limiting light, clinicians are able to switch seamlessly in real time among HD+ white light and three i-scan modes to readily view multiple aspects of tissue structure.

To fully support quality standards in colonoscopy and training and ensure smooth and efficient colonoscope navigation for improved patient comfort in everyday practice, Pentax Medical recently launched the SCOPEPILOT 3D Colon Navigation System. SCOPEPILOT delivers a true 3D, real-time representation of an endoscopes’ position with pinpoint accuracy when inside a patient’s bowel tract for highly accurate insertion tracking and effective colonic loop management.

Pentax Medical will also hold a number of training sessions and meetings for its customers at the event, as well as clinical lectures and live demonstrations. These include i-scan certification sessions, discussions related to its Blackbox Innovations programme and training on the exclusive online customer portal, MyPENTAX Medical, which will be launched at UEGW.

Pentax Medical’s annual Expert Dinner is to be held as a charity event at the prestigious Hofburg Vienna. All proceeds will be donated to the Felix Burda Foundation, which works to raise public awareness for the prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer. Pentax Medical will double the amount donated.

'This year we have introduced a number of exciting new products to enhance our support of GI consultants. Already these consultants are noting a marked effect in their diagnostic possibilities through their use of our new technologies, such as OPTIVISTA and SCOPEPILOT,' said Mariuccia Zambelli, General Manager Marketing and Business Development, EMEA of PENTAX Medical.
