Due to ongoing success in the healthcare sector, Gilling Dod's commitment to quality and innovation, plus realising long-term business planning, Gilling Dod Architects continues to grow and thrive with new appointments right across the team. 

The company is excited to announce a new leadership layer to the current Practice structure to complement the already highly experienced teams. Gilling Dod has created three new Associate Director positions, with further appointments planned in the future, as we continue to respond to the ever-changing needs of the sector.

The new Director Associates will have a pivotal role within the Practice as Gilling Dod build on the impressive track record by evolving, innovating and driving forward quality across the business. Huge congratulations go to Andrew Goodwin, Robin Graham, Neil Whatford.

New appointments at Gilling Dod architects

Promoted through the ranks, Andrew Goodwin (top, right) joined us in 2014. A vastly experienced Healthcare Architect, Andrew leads one of the Acute Teams on the high profile NHP for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, as well as major schemes for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS FT and North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS FT.

Likewise, Robin Graham (middle, right, is another home-grown member of the Team after joining in 2015. For the past six years he has played a prominent role in delivering many of the Practice’s key mental health projects including the award winning Inspire CAMHS Unit for Humber Teaching Hospital NHS FT. Currently he is leading the £90m Park House Redevelopment project for Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS FT & the Red Kite CAMHS facility in West Yorkshire.

Neil Whatford (bottom, right) joined Gilling Dod earlier this year as Associate Director and brings with him a fresh perspective and insight having worked for some of the most prominent Architectural Practices in the region. He is a highly motivated design professional and brings with him 16 years extensive design knowledge from a vast portfolio in health & social care facilities. He leads a team which is currently delivering the Neonatal Unit at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

As the company looks forward to celebrating its 140th year in 2022, it continues to evolve and develop the Practice to meet the challenges before us. Through sustainable and strategic growth, Gilling Dod is now 90 strong but still committed to client focus and design innovation across the entire team. The company recognises its biggest asset is its people, and is proud to be strengthening the management team, ensuring it can continue to deliver the highest possible quality and service to new and existing clients.
