Kier, a UK-based construction company, has started work on a new healthcare project, the Emily Siddon Building, which is part of the University of Huddersfield's National Health Innovation Campus (NHIC).
The 6,800 sqm facility, situated near the centre of Huddersfield, will offer diagnostic services as well as a place for local businesses to thrive.
The ground floor will include a Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) which will be run in partnership with Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

The new CDC will provide thousands of additional diagnostic tests, including MRI and CT scans, for the local community.
Other floors will offer specialist clinical teaching facilities and space for local entrepreneurs or start-up organisations as part of the university's health and wellbeing innovation centre.
The centre is being supported by the West Yorkshire Mayor and Combined Authority through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
In terms of sustainability, Kier is aiming for the new building to meet BREEAM 'Excellent' standards and secure WELL Platinum certification.
