Imotech Medical, the UK's sole distributor of the Fujifilm range of video endoscopy products, is to be headed up by a new general manager, Andrew Dawe.
Dawe will spearhead further development of the UK market as an integral part of Fujifilm's ambitions to grow its share of the world market for endoscopy equipment.
Imotech Medical provides equipment to the NHS and private healthcare sectors in addition to providing services such as instrument repairs and loan of scheduled or emergency equipment. The company also supplies consumables to endoscopy specialists throughout the UK from their technical service centre in Ross-on-Wye.
Dawe was previously commercial director for CareFusion UK & Ireland, where he made his mark by running the UK and Ireland company and he was instrumental in creating and executing transformational sales, marketing and profit and loss strategies.
He said of the new position: “This is really the opportunity for me to put into practice the ‘big organisation' strategies I'm experienced in implementing, which can work with another medical device business. It's a particularly interesting time in the endoscopy products sector, as until now there have been relatively few real alternatives to the current market leader and we're excited to see what the future now holds for Imotech in this dynamic field."
On the Fujifilm partnership, he added: “This has been key to the development of a fantastic range of high definition products, which are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and deliver an unrivalled service in endoscopy. We've made a substantial investment in creating regular, indepth training sessions for the clinicians who handle our products in order to put us at the forefront of clinical excellence and offer a more flexible service.
"It's a great time to join the business and I look forward to helping put in place efficient processes to ensure consistent returns, growth and to ensure we continue to supply the best products for the NHS and private healthcare providers."
